Email QR Code Generator
Scan to open a pre-addressed email — no typing required
An email QR code uses a mailto: link to open a pre-addressed email compose window when scanned. The recipient, subject line, and even body text can be pre-filled. When a customer scans it, their email app opens instantly with your address already entered — they just type their message and hit send. Use it on business cards, support signs, feedback cards, and anywhere you want to make contacting you frictionless.

How mailto QR codes work
A mailto QR code encodes a mailto: URI — a standard web protocol for triggering email composition. The basic format is mailto:youraddress@example.com. You can optionally include a subject and body: mailto:youraddress@example.com?subject=Inquiry&body=Hello. When someone scans the code, their default email app opens with the To field (and optionally Subject and Body) pre-filled. The user just adds their message and taps Send.
This works on both iOS (opens Apple Mail or the default email client) and Android (opens Gmail or the configured email app). The experience is the same regardless of which email service the user has — the phone's default mail app handles the mailto: link natively.
Use cases and placement
Customer support desks: a QR code that opens an email pre-addressed to support@yourcompany.com with the subject "Support Request" reduces the barrier to reaching out. Feedback cards: a QR code on a restaurant receipt or hotel checkout form pre-addressed to feedback@yourrestaurant.com. Business cards: an email QR code alongside your vCard QR code gives contact options. Conference materials: a presenter's email QR code on handouts so attendees can reach out immediately. Retail signage: a "Questions? Email us" QR code near product displays.
