Your PayPal.me link follows the format paypal.me/yourusername. When a customer scans the QR code, their browser opens that page. If they have the PayPal app installed, it opens directly in the app. They enter the payment amount (or you can set a fixed amount in the URL), add an optional note, and pay. You receive a notification immediately and the funds appear in your PayPal balance.
For a fixed amount — say, admission to an event or a set-price item at a market stall — you can append the amount to your PayPal.me link: paypal.me/yourusername/25. Customers scan, confirm the $25 payment, and you are done. This eliminates the need to give change or handle cash entirely.
When PayPal QR codes make the most sense
